NewIcons
Release 1.0
R'ykandar Korra'ti
March 21, 1991
READ ALL OF THIS!
This is a set of replacement icons for the directories and
executables found on the WB1.3 distribution from Commodore-Amiga.
Replacements for all the such icons on both the Workbench and
Extras disk are included, as well as hard drive and RAM drive
icons. They are designed to be used in conjunction with the NewGads
replacement gadgets programme; they use the same pens and are in
the same general style. This means that they're in the 3D motif
which has become popular as of late, and that if the highlighting
looks right with the NewGads gadgets, it'll look right with my
replacement icons.
I didn't try to replace icons belonging to AmigaBASIC BASIC
source files, Notepad text files, and other data files; since they're
all generated from within their applications anyway, any icons I
might include would get nuked. Contact me if you think I made a
mistake and I'll include them in the next release (if there's
interest).
The icons are stored in two directories within this zoo archive;
workbench and extras. Within those two directories all the icons may
be found in their "usual" (appropriate) directories. The only exceptions
to this pattern are the hard disk and ram disk icons, which are in the
root of the archive. I also didn't include all the redundant directory
icons; I included several, so you'll have plenty to copy about.
If you like these icons, send me a note, or a gift (giftware idea
stolen from Daniel Bloch, author of NComm). Also send Commodore a gift,
since a few of the icons herein are based upon theirs. You're NOT
required to do either of these things, but I'd really appreciate it.
An A3000 would be happy, of course... but a letter will do. Also maybe
a job offer (graphic artist/programmer/technical writer/etc), as I get
out of school in May 1991. My addresses are:

Legalese (yes, images may be copywritten; here, at least, the
courts have figured out the laws):
The images contained herein are (C) 1991 R'ykandar Korra'ti
except for images which are derived in part from other images
belonging to Commodore-Amiga; they are (C) 1991 Commodore-Amiga and
R'ykandar Korra'ti. The collection as a whole is (C) 1991 R'ykandar
Korra'ti.
This collection may be distributed freely as long as the
following conditions are met:
1) The collection is distributed as a whole, with nothing
added, deleted, or modified. This includes this README file. (I
don't want credit for your work or to lose credit for my own.)
2) No profit is made from any distribution of these images
or any subset thereof.
Anybody who wants to break rule one or two should contact me
and have an awfully good reason.
Finally, and very importantly:
Neither this collection nor any subset of this collection may
be uploaded to the CompuServe Information Service under any
circumstances.
